Chapter 2

Daisy pov I forced at a spot and as I listened to Finn, it got the better of me. There was confidence in his tone, like he knew this day would come and had already hatched a plan for it. "What do you mean?" I forced myself to stay calm, trying to find out what he had in mind. "I am telling you that even if you get the best lawyer. I am not granting you a divorce, especially not now that you have just a few months left to live or maybe even days" "What is that supposed to mean?" My blood turned cold, and fear took hold of me as I tried to wonder if this was the same man I married. "You are a smart Daisy and from the Bennet family, you should be able to put the pieces together or did you think it was because of your beauty that I had married you?" He scoffed. Like he was staring at a beast in front of him. "I am sorry Daisy, but I thought you would notice the change in your body and everything else, why did you think that you have been finding it difficult to conceive?" He ended all his hurtful words with a question and as I stood at a spot. I was starting to put the pieces together. "You have been poisoning me!" This was certainly not a question, this was definitely why I had been to the hospital countless times lately, it was why my body suddenly started failing me which was why I had become so desperate to have a child. I could hear my heart racing, the pain slicing through me, making it very difficult for me to breathe. All these years he stood by me, took me to the hospital for all checkups, held my hand with affection and assured me that everything was going to be alright, all this while he had been orchestrating my death. "See! I told you were smart and now you figured it out, but right now, I don't think you even have up to a month. I could just give you the last dose here and all of this will be over" A devious smirk curled through his lips. Making me take steps backwards. Wondering how I lived with this man for three years and didn't see this side of him. I knew I couldn't stay there any longer, Finn badly wanted my inheritance and from the look of things, he was ready to do anything to get it. Just as I turned around, ready to dash out of there. I felt two strong hands grab me. I looked up and realised it was his guards. I had no clue when they arrived at the hallway, but it wasn't looking good for me. "Let me go Finn, I will sign the inheritance to you, please you don't have to soil your hands with blood. Please" I pleaded in desperation with everything in me. "You don't have to worry about that. You would be surprised as to how many deaths" he expressed calmly and now. My gaze shifted to Laura who didn't seem bothered about this. "Is this the kind of man you want to be with?" "Don't worry about me, right now, you should be worried about yourself" Her gaze slowly drifted to Finn who remained calm as he walked back to his office. His guards were still holding me. I was pinned to the ground and when he returned again, he was holding a syringe in his hand. "What is this?" Even as I asked, I knew the answer, my heart began pounding rapidly. I had to think of a way to get out of here, else I would die and Fin would get away with everything. "Don't worry baby. This will take you out of your misery. And for the record, I loved you, Daisy. I loved you so much and felt so sorry when you cried at night and hated yourself for not being able to bear a child, but the truth remains that you were not worthy to carry my child" I was torn between pain, rage and confusion, should I go ahead and tell him about the baby I was carrying? Seeing the monster before me. I prayed he wouldn't find out about the pregnancy. Scared for what he might decide to do to the fetus inside of me. "Don't worry Daisy. It's not going to be painful, that's because I still love you and I want you to have a peaceful sleep" He spoke and pulled the syringe close to me. I shut my eyes, wondering how I got here, how I got from trying to announce the news of my pregnancy to end up getting killed alongside my fetus. But even at that moment it made me wonder if things would have been different if he had found out that I was pregnant, that I was carrying his child inside of me, but I shook my head, Laura was carrying his child and that was the only child he regarded as his. My heart shattered into tiny pieces, everything I was, everything I had. My position at the company I gave everything to him and this was how I ended. Just as he pieces the string inside my skin, ready to push the fluid inside, a loud menacing growl stops him in his tracks. "STOP!!" The voice growled and everywhere trembled, my eyes were shut but it was clear that this wasn't a human. This was certainly a beast. "What the fuck!" I heard Finn gasp, I opened my eyes and as Finn pulled away from me, the fear in his eyes was nothing as I had ever seen. His eyes popped wide, sweat had covered his face and he was trembling, the two guards who were also holding me had backed down. I turned around ready to see why they were all afraid. As my eyes locked with his, my breath stopped, before me was a white wolf, his fur was massive and his silver eyes bore into mine like it was calling out to me.

Awakening From A Toxic Billionaire Marriage

I woke up in a sterile hospital room, my head split open from a horrific car crash. But the pain in my skull was nothing compared to the memory burned into my retinas just before the impact: my billionaire husband, Dawson, walking into a luxury hotel with a woman who looked exactly like his dead first love. When Dawson finally arrived at the ward, there was no panic or relief in his eyes. He just coldly looked at my bloody bandages. "Your reckless driving just forced me to postpone the quarterly board meeting." Even our seven-year-old son, who I almost died giving birth to, didn't spare me a single glance. He kicked my hospital bed in annoyance. "The Wi-Fi here is garbage. You're a bad mom! Dad said Aunt Angelita should be the one living with us!" My blood turned to ice. For five years, I had bent over backward, wearing the hideous pale dresses he picked, starving myself to maintain a fragile figure, all to be a perfect, obedient substitute for a ghost. And this was what I got. An unfaithful husband who would rather bury me in debt than grant me a divorce, and a son who wished I was dead. The weak, subservient Charlene died on that wet asphalt. When the doctor pointed to Dawson and asked for his name, I looked at my husband with a hollow, defensive stare. "Who are you?" I whispered. Using retrograde amnesia as my shield, I was going to tear their perfect world apart.

His mother found her rotting body three days later, calling her a "filthy bottom-feeder" before ordering a cleanup crew to dispose of her existence like industrial waste. Jincheng didn't even ask if she suffered. He just ordered his PR team to digitally erase her ten years of sacrifice from the internet. "Make sure the press release is airtight. Bailey, an invisible shadow to the powerful Douglas family, stood in the freezing rain, watching City Hall. For five long years, she’d been used to being forgotten. But today, her entire world shattered as her fiancé, Jameson, walked out with another woman, Haleigh, holding their fresh marriage certificates. Jameson scooped Haleigh into his arms, treating her like fragile glass, convinced she’d saved him from a burning car five years ago. He never knew it was Bailey who pulled him from the flames, nor that Haleigh's "sickness" had left Bailey with an ugly scar from donating bone marrow, making her a mere family blood bank. Watching them kiss, pure nausea rose from years of blame. Bailey later found a joyous celebration for Haleigh at the manor. Her wet arrival drew only cold annoyance; Jameson gave pitying instructions before all four men rushed to Haleigh’s side when she faked a cough. Haleigh, with a sweet smile, presented Bailey a "gift"—a velvet box. Forced to open it, a venomous Brown Recluse spider dropped onto Bailey's hand, sinking its fangs deep. As white-hot agony exploded and her vision blurred, Haleigh theatrically screamed, deliberately scraping her forehead. The men, blind with panic for Haleigh’s minor scratch, roared at Bailey, shoved her to the floor, and rushed Haleigh to the car. Left to die alone, struggling for breath as her body shut down, Bailey knew this was the end of playing their disgusting game. She had already activated her hidden trust fund, planning to buy a remote island and disappear forever.
I Was Never His Real Wife

My little brother's heart monitor was screaming its final warning. I called my husband, Dante Volkov, the ruthless underworld king whose life I'd saved years ago. He had promised to send his elite medical team. "I'm handling an emergency," he snapped, then hung up. An hour later, my brother was dead. I found out what Dante's "emergency" was from his mistress's social media. He had sent his team of world-class surgeons to deliver her cat's kittens. My brother died for a litter of cats. When Dante finally called, he didn't even apologize. I could hear her voice in the background, asking him to come back to bed. He even forgot my brother was dead, offering to buy him a new toy to replace the one his mistress deliberately crushed. This was the man who had promised to protect me, to make my high school tormentors pay. Now, he was holding that very tormentor, Seraphina, in his arms. Then came the final blow: a call from the clerk's office revealed our seven-year marriage was a sham. The certificate was a forgery. I was never his wife. I was just a possession he was tired of. After he left me to die in a car crash for Seraphina, I made one call. I texted a rival mob heir I hadn't spoken to in years: "I need to disappear. I'm calling it in."

As the eldest daughter of the Sharp family, I was treated worse than a stray dog, while my younger sister Seraphina was their precious princess. When the family needed someone to marry a dying billionaire heir, they naturally chose me to take her place. To force my consent, my brothers held a peanut butter sandwich to my face—knowing it was a lethal allergy—while dangling my EpiPen just out of reach. On speakerphone, my own mother sighed in annoyance. "Let her die. It might be for the best." I choked out an agreement just as my throat closed up. But the forced engagement broke my sacred mystical vow, causing me to violently cough up my own lifeblood. Seeing the blood, Seraphina dramatically fainted. My brothers instantly carried her to the hospital, stepping over my dying body and leaving me to bleed out on the cold marble floor. I had to use a forbidden blood rune, draining my last ounce of strength, just to survive the night. Even the mystical Order I served offered no comfort, calling only to demand I secure ten billion dollars for them or forfeit my soul for eternity. Abandoned by my blood family and my spiritual master, I was completely alone, left with nothing but a broken body and a ticking clock. But they made one fatal mistake: they let me live. I turned to the dying heir they forced me to marry, a man plagued by a dark curse only I could cure. "I will be your wife, and I will save your life," I told him. In exchange, I would use his unimaginable wealth and power to make everyone who threw me away pay the ultimate price.
