Dear Dr. Warwick

When Ian Alastair's former lover suddenly reappears, the public assumes my world is shattering. Chapter 2

: Breakup

2

Not even complete and utter humiliation could derail my plan to break up with him!

So I quickly pulled away from the man in the white coat, getting into character as my eyes started to redden.

"Ian Alastair, so you're still thinking about your ex-girlfriend, aren't you?"

"I have a fever, and I had to come see a doctor all by myself."

"I was so delirious from the fever I mistook someone else for you. And you? You were busy taking care of another woman?"

Ian Alastair was silent for a moment, his deep gaze falling upon me.

"You have a fever?"

'He has some conscience after all, still asking if I have a fever at a time like this.'

He sized me up with a glance. "Yes, she does have a fever."

'I didn't expect the man in the white coat to be so cooperative. I almost choked on my next line.'

Under Ian Alastair's piercing gaze, I managed to plaster a heartbroken expression on my face and said, word by word, "Ian Alastair, let's break up."

I don't know if it was my imagination.

I saw the handsome man in the white coat raise an eyebrow.
