Selenas pov

The truck comes to a halt and my body rolls into someone else besides me, I'm too weak to move and can hardly open my eyes from the swelling in my face. Hearing some voices I know it's the king's men and I'm guessing we have arrived in his kingdom.

The doors back in the truck open and I hear some screaming before bodies are dragged out of the truck, hands comes and grab me, lifting my body up and tossing me to the ground. I hit the hard concrete with a thud, biting my tongue to prevent myself from making any sound.

I feel blood oozing out of my tongue and spit it out in front of me, blood pouring down my jaw. Trying to take in my surroundings with my ears, I know we were about fifteen people on the truck and I heard more than one truck when we arrived here.

"Get up on your feet rogue!" A guard stops by my body and kicks me in my stomach. All air leaves my body and I have to clutch my arms around my stomach in pain, trying to open my eyes I look around and in the corner of my eyes, I see a gorgeous man in a dark grey suit walking closer to us. I have a feeling I know who it is!

He has three more men beside him and by the aura around him I can already guess who he is and the men beside him.

Trying to sit up I lean forward and keep my head down, whatever happens, my true identity can't be revealed.

The man walks closer and I have to keep my raising heart down, I know they will pick up my heart rate if I don't keep it steady. I see his feets walking closer to where I am sitting on the ground before he stops a bit in front of us. I just breathe slowly and focus on keeping my head low, hoping he won't notice me.

" is this all?" I hear him say and that's all I need to know, it's him. I will never forget his voice as long as I live... My mate!

" yes my king! " comes a guard's voice to answer him.

Keeping my eyes locked on the ground I wait for what's to come.

" take them to the dungeons and start to interrogate them!" He orders out and guards start to drag people down a stair. A pair of arms come and grab me before I'm being dragged over to the stairs, he doesn't stop and my body bounces down every step. I'm already badly beaten up and for every step down the stairs, I try just to hold in my whimpers. I will not give them that kind of satisfaction.

Coming down the last step the guard drags me inside and I have to just try and breathe through the bad stench of blood and body fluids that hits my nose the moment we come inside the building.

The guard stops outside a cell and opens the door up before he tosses me inside and I land on the floor. smacking my head on the hard concrete, feeling my head crack up by the impact and a warm substance running to my cheek.

I have no energy left to move and my wolf is dormant from all this wolfsbane they have ingested us with, I can't heal from my wounds and black spots start to dance in front of my eyes. I don't fight it right now! Just letting the darkness suck me down and take me away from this place.

I think back on the moment I saw my mate all those years back. I followed a mouth-watering scent and it lead me to the cemetery. It got stronger when I walked a bit further in, and I couldn’t resist it. That's when I saw him! He stood beside a new grave with his back towards me, I didn't need him to turn around for me to know it was my mate.

I stopped In my tracks when I saw whose grave he stood by. Cursing to the moon goddess in my head! How cruel could she be?

My mate is the Alpha king... Kian!

The king over all werewolves and he just lost his mate, they said she was pregnant and to week, she couldn't survive a pregnancy and died just a month into her pregnancy. He buried her yesterday!

I try to slowly walk backwards without making any sound when I see him take a sniff in the air and slowly turn around.

His eyes meet mine and my breath hitches in my body. He is so handsome! tall, and very muscular. Black hair and in the darkness I can se his glowing amber eyes.

He is breathtakingly handsome!

"MATE" the words just slip out of my mouth before I can stop them.

-NO !! He roars at me, taking long strides toward me. He comes to stand right in front of me and I am too afraid to even breathe.

He takes my chin in a firm grip and tilts my head up to look at him. He looks me deep in my eyes, sparks shoot out from his touch and I gasp from the feeling.

”You are not my mate! And you never will be! ”

Hi spits out the words to me. He’s so angry, that his alpha aura slips out of him and I can barely breathe anymore.

”you will leave my land and never come back! If You ever set your foot at my lands again I will kill you and your whole family! Is that understood?" He says with such hatred in his voice.

I can't move, can't look in his eyes, the pain I feel almost has me falling to the ground. I think I would have if his grip on my chin wasn’t that hard. A whimper leaves my lips.

" I said is that understood!" He barks out to me and a tear slip down my chin. I have to hold back a sob from the pain I feel.

His grip on my chin tightens and all I can do is nod. If his look on me could kill, I would be dead right now. He let go of me and I fall to my knees. Trying to gather myself from all this heartache I feel.

"Now get the fuck off my land!" He booms out and his alpha command washed over me and I can’t do anything else than obey.

I scramble to my feet and start running.
