—¿¡Qué demonios!? —grité furiosa al ver al hombre al que llamaba mi prometido besándose apasionadamente con mi supuesta mejor amiga.

—¡Lucien! ¡Zora! —grité, pero no me respondieron. En lugar de eso, continuaron con lo que estaban haciendo, actuando como si yo ni siquiera estuviera en la habitación.

Mi corazón se hizo añicos al ver a las dos personas que creía mi última familia traicionarme de la manera más dolorosa posible.

—¡Más fuerte, Lucien! ¡Oh, por la diosa! —Zora gimió de placer mientras Lucien seguía embistiéndola.

—¿De qué estás hablando? Sabes qué clase de persona soy, Zora —afirmé, pero ella solo se burló y apartó la mirada.

—Entonces, ¿crees que te amé? —preguntó Lucien, colocándose frente a mí—. No eres digna de mi amor porque solo eres una Omega. La única razón por la que decidí soportarte fue porque eres la siguiente en la línea al trono, y al convertirte en Luna me harías automáticamente el Alpha. Esta es la única razón por la que he estado contigo, Elora —sonrió con sorna.

Ella se burló y se puso de pie para acercarse a mí—. Lucien, muéstrale por qué te elegiste a mí en lugar de a ella. Muéstrale por qué le pagamos su bondad con maldad —sonrió con malicia.

—Con mucho gusto, cariño —rió él, y mi corazón se encogió de odio. Le rodeó la cintura y giró su cuerpo desnudo—. ¿Ves esto, Elora? Ella tiene todo lo que quiero en una mujer. Belleza, curvas, labios besables y es excelente en la cama. ¡No es una Omega inútil como tú!

Lo callé con otra bofetada.

—¿Estás loco? ¿Crees que ser Omega me impide ser la hija del Alpha? —grité.

—Ser la hija del Alpha es lo único bueno que tienes.

—¡Cállate! —repliqué. ¡Qué descaro! Después de todo, ¿todavía tenía el descaro de decir tonterías frente a mí? ¿Me tomó por tonta porque elegí callar ciertas cosas?

—Ambos pagarán por lo que han hecho. Juro que no los perdonaré —los advertí, señalándolos con el dedo índice.

—¿Qué puede hacer una debilucha? —se burló Lucien.

Me limpié las lágrimas del rostro. Qué cruel era ver a alguien que creí que se preocupaba por mí, alguien que pensé que me amaba tanto, tratarme de esta manera.

—¿Me llamas débil? ¿Has olvidado que soy la heredera al trono? Podría acabar con ambos con solo mover un dedo. ¿Sabes qué? Eso es exactamente lo que haré. Me aseguraré de exponerlos, de humillarlos públicamente, y luego decidiré su castigo —mi voz fue firme y autoritaria.

Me habían herido profundamente, y debía ocuparme de ellos.

Miré el anillo en mi mano—. Me diste este anillo esta misma mañana, diciendo que me amabas y haciendo todo tipo de promesas estúpidas y falsas. Puedes quedártelo, ya no lo quiero —me quité el anillo y lo arrojé al suelo.

—¿Qué? —fruncí el ceño, intentando comprender lo que había dicho. La realización me golpeó, pero antes de poder moverme, Lucien me agarró del cuello y me levantó del suelo, clavándome contra la pared.

Zora se acercó con un cuchillo y mis ojos se abrieron de par en par.

—¿No te atrevas? —logré decir. Sus manos se cerraban con fuerza alrededor de mi cuello, succionándome la vida.

No podía hablar e intenté apartarlo, pero su agarre se hizo más fuerte. Me estaba quedando sin aire, así que hice lo único que se me ocurrió en ese momento. Le di una patada en la entrepierna y me soltó. Comencé a correr hacia la salida de la habitación, pero me detuve cuando sentí algo perforar mi carne.

Intenté hablar, pero no pude; un dolor inmenso recorrió mis venas, y sobre todo mi corazón. Zora arrancó la espada con violencia y grité, desplomándome en el suelo.

—Haré un mejor trabajo como la Luna de Lucien, así que no tienes de qué preocuparte —sonrió Zora, y Lucien la tomó por la cintura, envolviéndola en un beso intenso.

Las lágrimas rodaron por mis mejillas. Intenté forzar mis ojos a permanecer abiertos, pero no pude. Supe al instante que ese era mi último momento, y no debía desperdiciarlo. Mientras los observaba, sentí resentimiento y recé a la diosa de la luna por una segunda oportunidad para volver y hacerles pagar por todo lo que me habían hecho.

Pronto, ya no pude mantener los ojos abiertos.
